Did you know that [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elton John[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bernie Taupin[/lastfm] once wrote a song for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frank Sinatra[/lastfm]? Neither did we…until an Elton John fan site discovered a live recording — from the audio quality, we’re guessing it’s a bootleg — of “Remember.” Ol’ Blue Eyes included the song in several live shows during the late ’70s — and made a studio recording on July 17th, 1978.
But that was never released — and feared lost until [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nancy Sinatra[/lastfm] said a tape had been found about nine years ago. While that studio session hasn’t been posted, a live recording has made its way to YouTube.
So if you ever wondered how Frank Sinatra might handle an Elton John song, here’s your chance to find out. ~JZ.
