Bogle, who co-founded the band with fellow Tacoma construction worker [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Don Wilson[/lastfm] in 1959, moved to the West Coast when he was 15. Originally the lead guitarist, he later concentrated on the bass. He died of non-Hodgkins lymphoma in June 2009, a year after they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Edwards, who swapped spots with Bogle early in the band’s tenure, remains active with the band. He appeared with them at their show last winter in New York and takes part in their annual tour of Japan, where they remain the most popular non-Asian band. Edwards first came to the Northwest as a member of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Buck Owens[/lastfm]‘ band, and has also backed country legends [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ferlin Husky[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lefty Frizzell[/lastfm].
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will hold its annual ceremony will be held November 10th in Muskogee.
