In the long, sad history of bad ideas, these are the worst. Spirited teen singer-actress [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miley Cyrus[/lastfm] has “won” the distinction of coming in at No. 1 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the top 10 Worst Cover Songs of All Time…
The magazine’s readers voted her rendition of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nirvana[/lastfm]‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” the worst of the worst.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Limp Bizkit[/lastfm]‘s version of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Who[/lastfm] anthem “Behind Blue Eyes” came in just behind Cyrus at No. 2, followed by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Madonna[/lastfm]‘s turn at [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Don McLean[/lastfm]‘s “American Pie,” [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sheryl Crow[/lastfm]‘s go at [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm]‘ “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Britney Spears[/lastfm]‘ take on the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] classic “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”
Personally, I would put ANYTHING by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]William Shatner[/lastfm] covering ANYONE on that list.
Or[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Dolly Parton[/lastfm]‘s version of “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin. The mind boggles. ~JZ.
