As many of you may know by now, [lastfm]SuperHeavy[/lastfm] is [lastfm]Mick Jagger[/lastfm]‘s eclectic group of stars featuring [lastfm]Eurythmics[/lastfm] founder [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dave Stewart[/lastfm], soul singer [lastfm]Joss Stone[/lastfm], Academy Award-winning composer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]A.R. Rahman [/lastfm] and reggae star [lastfm]Damian Marley[/lastfm].
Starting in 2009, the group gathered in a large studio in L.A. and simply played and sang. At the time, they were practically strangers. This week they released their debut album.
Mick sat down to talk Chicago on-air personality Marty Lennartz, to discuss how group came together and their vocal-heavy sound.
As for a possible tour, Jagger said they’d “been offered two funny shows in India,” but there were no plans yet. “We want to see if there’s something fun that we can do as a show differently, not just a straight-up show.”
