[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]STEVEN TYLER[/lastfm] took a lot of criticism for his National Anthem at Sunday’s New England Patriots / Baltimore Ravens game . . . but [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]AEROSMITH [/lastfm]guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]JOE PERRY[/lastfm] has his back.
Joe tells the National Post, “That song is a [B-word]. They should just get one guy . . . like an opera singer . . . who delivers the song exactly the same way when you see the American flag or the Canadian flag, so no one messes with it.”
“Why can’t somebody interpret it the way that they want?”
Joe also says that Steven flew into Boston just to sing the National Anthem, after attending two funerals in Los Angeles. (is Joe guilt-tripping everyone who ripped on Steven by mentioning the funerals? Just sayin’.)
Joe adds, quote, “[Steven has] got a one in a million voice and people are lucky to hear it . . . give me a break, he’s a rock singer. He’s using the tools that he’s got.”
Here’s the video of it again for your review. It sounds NOTHING like fingernails being scratched on a blackboard, right? Lol ~JZ.
