Does Heather Mills have a leg to stand on? I mean, legally…
Former[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Beatle[/lastfm] wife Heather Mills on Thursday testified in the ongoing inquiry into Rupert Murdock‘s News Corp journalists hacking the phones of celebrities and crime victims.
Mills, the former wife of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], testified that an unidentified journalist told her he had overheard voice messages left by her then-husband, including an attempt by Sir Paul to apologize with a song following an argument.
Mills said, “One of them said, ‘Please forgive me,’ and he sang a little ditty of one of his songs onto the voice mail.” Mills later received a call from the unknown journalist who told her he’s overheard the messages. Mills said she told the journalist, “I promise you, if you report this story, even if it’s true, you have obtained the information illegally, and I will do something about it.”
She didn’t have to - the journalist never reported the story. So there’s that. ~JZ.
