One more link to the rich history of rock and roll has been lost…

Session guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Billy Strange[/lastfm], who co-wrote the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elvis Presley[/lastfm] smash “A Little Less Conversation” and played on the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beach Boys[/lastfm] classic Pet Sounds album, died last Wednesday in Nashville at the age of 81.

Strange’s long list of credits also includes playing on, writing for and arranging material for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nancy Sinatra[/lastfm]…see the ultra rare video below.

Other greats Billy worked with included the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Everly Brothers[/lastfm],[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Chubby Checker[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ricky Nelson[/lastfm], among many others.

But now, as a tribute, a little less conversation and a little more ELVIS action…Billy’s original song for The King: ~JZ.
