The Fab Four called it quits in 1970 after a decade of dominance which began in the U.K and made its way stateside with Beatlemania. But more than forty years after the release of final album Let It Be, the Beatles could be making a return.

Well, the Beatles 2.0, to be more specific.

Paul and Ringo won’t be uniting for another go at greatness. Instead the offspring of the Beatles might form a next generation incarnation of the band to take the world by storm, according to McCartney’s 34-year-old son, James, who’s released two EPs of his own in the last two years.

“I’d be up for it. Sean (Lennon) seemed to be into it, Dhani (Harrison) seemed to be into it. I’d be happy to do it,” James McCartney told the BBC, reports U.K.’s the Telegraph.

The thought of forming the next generation of the band had been discussed for some time by the Beatles kin, with the only resistance coming from Ringo’s brood.

“I don’t think it’s something that Zak [Starkey, naturally a drummer] wants to do,” McCartney added. “Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also a drummer] would want to do it.”
