Welcome, Joe! Today’s the Day. Trader Joe’s has finally brought their brand to Texas. This first two Texas locations opened this morning on in Fort Worth, and the other in Houston.
Thought the doors didn’t open until 8:00 am this morning the line began to form around 5:30 this morning according to Pegasusnews.
“I’ve been waiting for this day,” said Ricki Klos, a native of the Bay Area in California, who got the first spot in line.
By 8:00 am when the doors opened there were more than 200 people in line, a large percentage being California natives.
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price arrived to make a speech thanking Trader Joe’s for making Fort Worth their first Texas location.
When the doors finally opened crowd cheered, and employees clad in Hawaiian shirts welcomed them by putting leis around their necks.
The Dallas location for Trader Joe’s is set to open later this year.
