We all know the story of Josh Hamilton from the #1 pick to out of baseball for drug related issues to MVP and member of the two time defending American League Championship Texas Rangers.
The story is so good that Josh Hamilton has offered the rights to his life story to Thunder Road Pictures producer Basil Iwanyk. The goal is to make a feature-length film around the events of the phoenix like rise of the center fielder.
Thunder Road Pictures is best known for making The Town and We Are Marshall. Hamilton, his wife and his manager have requested to be co-producers on the film that is set to be written and directed Casey Affleck.
The story from a top prospect of the Rays to being kicked out of the league for three years for breaking the substance abuse policy to returning and rising to the top of Major League Baseball. The whole story is planned to be in the movie. How will the movie end? Can Hamilton lead the Rangers to their first World Championship that has eluded them the last two years? We think that would be a fitting way to close out the film.
