Aerosmith‘s first LP in the last 11 years, Music From Another Dimension, was set to drop August 28th, but front-man Steven Tyler has now revealed it will be pushed back to November 6th.
The album will be the band’s first LP since 2001′s Just Push Play.
“It’s pushed back because too many people are releasing those weeks, and we don’t want to step on their release dates,” Rolling Stone is reporting Tyler said. “So we said, ‘You know what, we got the goods, ain’t no doubt about [it], we’ll wait a couple months.’”
Last month on the season finale of American Idol, the band debuted the albums first single, “Legendary Child”, but it has hit the Billboard and iTunes charts with more of a whimper than a bang.
The group does plan to release two more singles before the album hits stores in November.
Tyler also believes that the new album is a bit of a throwback to the band’s roots.”We accomplished what we set out to do, which was write some stuff so we could represent who we were in the old days,” Tyler said. “After all these years, you can become something other than you started out to be – and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing – but we kinda love our rock and I love the diversity of this band … I thought that was one of the secrets that Aerosmith had that other bands didn’t – a little bit of this, a little bit of that.”
Too bad we will have to wait till November to find out.
