USA Today released their preseason top 25 today, and not surprisingly LSU and Alabama are at the top. A little more surprising is Texas ranked at 15 and TCU coming in at 17. Other notables from the Big 12 include Oklahoma at 4, West Virginia at 11, Oklahoma State at 19, and Kansas State at 21. You can see the complete list below.

This is the first time since 1998 that the two teams who played in the previous season’s title game are at the top of the preseason poll.

The SEC again looks like the strongest conference in college football with five of the nation’s top ten teams coming out of that conference, and seven teams total in the top 25. The Big 12 looks like a close second however, also having six teams making the top 25.

Other Texas schools that received votes Texas A&M, Baylor, Houston, and Texas Tech.
