Legendary Longhorns Coach Darrell Royal Dies At 88
Maybe the biggest name to ever coach the Texas Longhorns, legendary coach Darrell Royal, passed away at the age of 88.
Royal won three nationals titles while coaching the Longhorns 1957-1976 and now the stadium in Austin bears his name. He’s the leader in wins for the University with a career record of 167-47-5.
Royal was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease in recent years and is survived by his wife Edith.
