Former Foreigner bandmates Mick Jones and Lou Gramm will perform on stage together for the first time in over a decade at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in New York City on June 13. The band, formed by Jones and Gramm in 1976, is responsible for some of the biggest rock anthems of our time, including the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” which is one of the 25 most performed songs in the ASCAP catalog.
The reunion was announced via the band’s official Twitter account: “Mick Jones and Lou Gramm to reunite on stage for Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony!”
Lou Gramm played his last show with the band in 2003. He left Foreginer for the first time in 1990 to pursue his solo career, but rejoined in 1992. In recent years, Jones has hired a number of different musicians for the band, including drummer Jason Bonham and Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson.
