As anyone knows who’s looked at homes ’round here lately, or looked at their latest property tax bill, prices have zoom zoomed. Yeah, we’ll look back on this someday and these prices will look low, but… not now! In fact, Dallas is one of four metro areas in the nation that have either matched or eclipsed their all-time highs.
According to Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller home price index, Dallas joins San Francisco, Portland and Denver with record numbers — and we don’t even have mountains nearby! (Ah, but that sunshine…)
Yep, Dallas-area home prices are up 9.4 percent from a year ago. Nationwide home prices rose a rather hefty 5.3 percent.
