For those of you living under a purple rock, Prince and his new, all girl backing band 3rdEyeGirl have been making 2013 their bitch. With rocking remixes of classics such as “Let’s Go Crazy” and new music from The Purple One’s upcoming album, Plectrum Electrum, Prince and 3rdEyeGirl’s 2013 “Live Out Loud Tour“ has been a rocking affair by all accounts – with Prince shoveling out Hendrix style guitar playing he’s kept mostly in the bag. Until now.

In an effort to end the water crisis that is affecting millions of people, 780,000,000 to be exact, Olivia Wilde, Bono and Richard Branson have joined in Matt Damon’s “toilet strike.”

Damon, who announced his strike in February, stated that those in the effort “won’t go to the bathroom until everyone in the world has access to clean water and sanitation.”

The strike that is led by the Damon and the advocacy group he co-founded, Water.org, are seeking to end the water crisis that is leaving millions without accesses to clean water and sanitation that can lead to illness and even death.

While the idea of the strike is a serious one, Damon and the other celebrities involved have turned to humor in order to get more awareness. In a video posted to YouTube on May 22nd, Wilde, Bono and Branson joke about how Damon crashed their not-so-secret secret meeting.

“I remember when Matt first brought up the idea, it was at a meeting of the Illuminati,” said the U2 frontman.

Wilde joked and added, “Bono was so mad. I only got in because I am an android from the future.”

Branson also added some humor to the video adding, “Bono started beating Matt with a two-by-four.”

However, alongside the jokes, the celebrities cited facts about the water crisis and what people could do to help.

“Millions of people each day spend hours just fetching clean water,” Bono says in the new public service announcement. “780,000,000 people – that’s one in nine – lacks access to safe water.”

Damon appears at the end of the video to encourage others to “join the millions of famous people who’ve already joined my strike. And remember, if you don’t use the toilet, you’re a celebrity.”

This is the second time McCartney has expressed support for the three band members who were originally arrested in March of 2012. Three members of the Russian feminist punk-rock collective, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Yekaterina Samutsevich and Maria Alyokhina, were arrested and charged with hooliganism after protesting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow’s main cathedral, Cathedral of Christ the Savior, in February 2012.

The band members were convicted of the charges in August of 2012 and were sentenced to two years in prison. However, after less than two months, Samutsevich was released on an appeal. The spark for recent interest from McCartney came after Alyokhina was denied access to her own parole hearing. As of May 22, Alyokhina has declared she will be on a hunger strike in protest of being denied the right to attend her hearing. Tolokonnikova, also still in prison, was denied parole on April 26.

The former Beatle stressed the Russian administration should consider parole for Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova.

In the letter regarding the case of Alyokhina, McCartney wrote and shared on his website, “My personal belief is that further incarceration for Maria will be harmful for her and the situation as a whole, which, of course, is being watched by people all over the world.”

McCartney continues in the letter, “In the great tradition of fair-mindedness which the Russian people (many of whom are my friends) are famous for, I believe that you granting this request would send a very positive message to all the people who have followed this case.”

In a separate hand-written letter, McCartney stressed concern for Tolokonnikova as well. He writes, “I have had a long relationship with the Russian people, and, with this in mind, I am making the following request in a spirit of friendship for my many Russian acquaintances who, like me, believe in treating people – all people, with compassion and kindness.”

McCartney is not the only musician that has voiced support for Pussy Riot band members. Madonna, Sting, and Yoko Ono, have publicly supported the group.

Pete Townshend may have started this whole guitar-smashing thing in rock music, Jimi Hendrix famously set his guitar on fire, and Paul Stanley of KISS certainly makes a big spectacle out of it. But no rock star consistently demolishes their axe on-stage with as much vigor and ferocity as Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and Rainbow.

This week in 1987, Deep Purple’s world tour got interrupted after Blackmore broke a finger in his hand while destroying one of his axes during the show. Specifically, he threw the guitar up in the air and tried to catch it like he often did – but instead, it cracked him in the hand on the way down.

So naturally the tour had to be cancelled with the band’s dynamic, incendiary lead guitarist suddenly unable to play. But it was just a great reminder of just how insane the guy went when it came time to smash his guitars into dust. He didn’t smash his guitars so much as mercilessly beat them into oblivion, as if the soul of Satan was stuck inside.

These video clips should do justice to that claim. Here’s a collection of Blackmore bashing his guitars into smithereens throughout the ’70s and ’80s.

Jamie Deen stopped by the show this time around. He’s got a new show on the Food Network called Home for Dinner. His type of cooking is somewhere between his mamma’s and his brother’s cooking. He sort of taking things back to his childhood and eating like his 6-year-old.

You know an outdoor wedding is beautiful, but things can go wrong. Normally, it’s something like the weather, but there’s always a first time for everything…even a dog. The playful pup known as Tess was enjoying a typical day at the park when she decided to tackle a bride headed down the aisle. No worries, the bride wasn’t hurt. She actually thought it was funny. In case you haven’t heard, getting tackled by a dog on your wedding day is good luck…it’s the new rain.

Is this the definition of disposable income? A man in China just paid almost $400,000 for a Belgian pigeon. It seems China has run out of its own racing pigeons and this guy spared no expense to import one. You know people just watch the pigeon races, just to see a pigeon crash.

Helio Castroneves has won the Indianapolis 500 three times since he burst onto the Indy racing scene in 2001, putting him just one win off the all-time mark. But that has hardly satisfied Castroneves’ craving for victory. In fact, Castroneves is so desperate for a fourth title, he says he’d give up sex for a year just to get it.

More than 30 years after he graduated high school, President Obama’s senior prom pictures have emerged in public, featuring the president when he was 17 years old, clad in a white sport coat and a lei, posing for pictures with his friends.

A mother had her son arrested for allegedly stealing her Pop-Tarts. According to police, the mother called authorities and reported her Pop-tarts were stolen by her juvenile son.

Having spent a lot of time around San Saba, I’ve passed this 100-year-old Lampasas County railroad bridge hundreds of times. Built in 1910 and 300 yards long, it went up in flames this week – in what looked like a scene from a Western. Not far from Tommy Lee Jones’ ranch, BTW…

So for all you Hangover purists…I think you will be disappointed in The Hangover 3.

Now, don’t get me wrong it is very funny. You should go see it just to finish off the trilogy. But I will warn you, it doesn’t stay true to The Hangover 1 & 2. In fact, there is no actual hangover. With that being said, the plot is pretty predictable. All the characters from the first and second films come back for cameos. Heather Graham…Carlos the baby…even Todd Phillips, the director, pops in for a scene. Sadly though, no Mike Tyson.

However, the best cameo hands down, goes to Melissa McCarthy!!! I wish there had been more of her!!! I think her scene with Zach Galifianakis is brilliant!!! She is essentially the female counterpart to “Alan”. I think she could have easily been written in to join the wolf pack on their hangover journey, but like I said before…this hangover movie went in a completely different direction.

There’s really not a whole lot else to talk about other than the very last scene. You have to stick around for the credits to see it. It is the BEST scene in the whole movie. This scene is how The Hangover 3 should have began.

Since the original hangover started with roofies, I think it should end that way too! I give The Hangover 3…3 out of 5 roofies!
